The 2024 SDPHS National Convention will be held:
December 4 – 7, 2024 at the South Shore Harbour Resort & Conference Center in League City, TX .

Hotel Information:

We secured a hotel price of $145 per night which includes a buffet breakfast for 2 persons per room and free parking.  Five of the rooms are handicapped accessible.  The room rate is good for 3 days before the convention and 3 days after.

  • The Hotel provides complimentary standard high-speed internet services in the guest rooms as well as the common areas and meeting space of the Hotel. 
  • Parking is free for those driving and staying at the convention hotel.  For those flying into Houston, we recommend that you fly into the William P. Hobby Airport. 
  • The South Shore Harbour Resort does not provide shuttle service between the airport and the hotel.  You will need to check local uber and taxi rates.

  • Texas barbeque lunch
  • Tour of the Lone Star Air Museum
  • Tour of the Johnson Space Center

A Remembrance Day Ceremony will be conducted on December 7 at Sea Wolf Park, Galveston, TX.

In addition to the hotel restaurant, there are plenty of restaurants in the area and the Kemah Boardwalk on the harbor.

The hotel reservation deadline is:  Monday, November 4, 2024.  Individuals will have 72 hours prior to arrival to cancel without penalty.  If cancelled after this time, a charge of one night’s room and tax will be incurred.

Please note: EVERYONE (including children 7 & over) MUST BE REGISTERED AND WEAR THEIR NAME BADGES TO ATTEND ALL CONVENTION EVENTS. (Exception: members attending only the General Business Meeting need not register)..
Registration cost is $50.00 per person including children 7 & over. This includes insurance, printing of programs, beverages for hospitality room, and other administrative obligations.
Pearl Harbor Survivor or WWII Veteran (no charge). Please enter number attending.
Dec. 5 Thursday – Johnson Space Center. Includes tour of historic Apollo Mission control, Building 9 Astronaut Training Facility and Saturn V Rocket.
Transportation to and from the Johnson Space Center. Bus departs Hotel at 2:30 p.m. and returns at 5:00 p.m.
Dec. 5 Thursday – Johnson Space Center Galaxy Lights. For those touring the Space Center, stay and view the Galaxy Light show in the grounds around the center.
Transportation will be provided to those who purchased a ticket to tour the Space Center. Bus departs at 8:00 p.m.
Dec. 6 Friday – Lone Star Flight Museum. This includes a Texas barbeque lunch of brisket and chicken with 2 sides, tea and tour of the museum.
Transportation to and from the Museum. Bus departs Hotel at 11:30 a.m. and returns at 3:30 p.m.
Dec. 6 Friday – Harbor Boat Tour. Relax on a 3-hour tour of the Harbor. Includes beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages. Departs from the Hotel at 7:00 p.m.
Dec. 7 Saturday – Transportation to Sea Wolf Park for the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Ceremony. Bus departs Hotel at 9:45 a.m. and returns at 12:30 p.m.


Dec. 7 Saturday – Banquet Meals (garden salad, starchy vegetable, vegetable, warm rolls and butter, dessert, coffee and tea included):
Tenderloin of Beef with Glazed Shallots & Pinot Noir sauce
Chicken Florentine with White Wine Cream Sause
